Grace Chapel is looking for Part-time Event and Hospitality Specialist  to supervise onsite contracted rental events and Sunday moring Café operations.  This position helps create and provide clean, safe and supportive environments for those who attend services and/or rent our buildings throughout the week. 

Position Summary 

The Operations department at Grace Chapel exists to support the multi-site ministry of Grace Chapel – its members, guests, buildings, and properties.  Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, distraction free, and caring environment.  This team member needs to be knowledgeable about the buildings, its systems, and idiosyncrasies and also supervise a full scale café operations, its volunteer team, physical purchasing and receiving of supplies and customer focused. 

This position has the following responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Meet, greet assist and follow up with rental clients. 

  • Physically conduct Café shopping at local suppliers and online. 

  • Manage inventory, storage and setup and closing procedures for Sunday moring operations and special events. 

  • Supervise and train Café volunteers. 

  • Cash Management procedures. 

  • Setting up rental event rooms per room requisition notes (tables, chairs) 

  • Cleaning (vacuuming, bathrooms) 

  • Noticing things that are broken or need attention.  Remedy or report them. 

  • Having knowledge of fire and safety procedures and able to execute them. 

  • Operating electronic thermostats to adjust as needed. 

  • Complete maintenance items between events and during slow periods.  

  • Inspecting all buildings for appearance, performance, upkeep and repair. 

  • The work schedule for this position is requires availability on weekends and evenings for rental events and Sunday morning café operations with occasional responsibilities on week days during business hours. 

  • Work will be primarily assigned to our Lexington Campus, with occasional travel to our other campus' as needed

Required education and training requirements

  • Ability to use cleaning supplies effectively 

  • Reasonably physically fit so as to be able to safely climb step ladders and lift materials up to 50lbs. 

  • Requires personal transportation method to conduct shopping for Café food and supplies.   

  • Must be able to reach, lift, push, pull, stand and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.  

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
