Position Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Homestead Health Center, you will provide Person Centered Care and support to residents in our long-term care facility. You will assist with daily living activities, promote resident independence, and contribute to a caring and safe environment. Your compassionate approach and dedication to quality care will make a significant impact on the lives of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, feeding etc.
  • Monitor, observe and report changes in residents’ conditions to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing, ensuring timely intervention and care adjustments
  • Assist residents with mobility, including transfers and ambulation, to enhance their physical well-being
  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with residents, their families, and team members, fostering a positive and supportive environment
  • Accurately document care provided and any changes in residents' conditions in compliance with facility policies and procedures
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by following infection control protocols and maintaining proper hygiene standards
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging them in conversation and encouraging participation in Activities to promote mental well-being
  • Ensure residents are presented with opportunity to participate in the spiritual offerings of their choosing, when they choose it
  • Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for all residents

Work Environment:

This position operates within a healthcare facility and requires frequent standing, walking, and hands-on resident care. This position involves potential exposure to infectious diseases and other health-related hazards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current CNA certification in the state of Kansas
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to providing care
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and resident care practices
  • Ability to operate lifts and assist residents, stand for extended periods, push/pull or lift up to 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Attention to detail and adherence to care protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a long-term care or healthcare setting preferred, but not required
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation using electronic health systems
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
