The HR Generalist supports the Human Resources department by managing key functions like recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR training, and compliance with labor laws. Acting as the main contact for employees and managers, they provide guidance on HR policies and work with the HR Director to enhance employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness. This role requires a solid understanding of HR practices, strong communication skills, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Oversee recruiting, hiring, and onboarding for the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF) and Park City Ski and Snowboard.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for UOLF and Park City Ski and Snowboard, including 403b and HSA Funding.
- Assist HR Director with employee relations, including workplace conflict, disciplinary action, and grievances.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims and case management in compliance with state and federal regulations. (average 2-3 cases per month)
- Manage unemployment claims and correspondence to ensure compliance and accurate representation of the organization. (average 6-8 claims per month)
- Manage employment reporting and other government-required reports, ensuring accurate and timely submissions in compliance with all regulations.
- Manage and track HR compliance trainings and other HR training sessions.
- Help coordinate HR programs, projects, and policies to boost employee engagement.
- Help HR department maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Flexible work schedule – must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- This position typically operates in a professional office environment.
- Travel required for meetings, training, or other work-related events at other venues.
- Must be able to sit and work at a desk for long periods, as well as, able to lift 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing - to converse with other is a normal conversation.
- Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
Required Knowledge and Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in HR, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of HR reporting, workers compensation, and unemployment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
