Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is home to a state-of-the-art biathlon range that was used for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The facility also features a 31-kilometer trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, as well as mountain biking and hiking in the summer. It is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in winter sports in Utah. As a Guest Services Representive, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while taking orders and serving café guests food and beverages in a friendly and positive manner.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
- Check-In and Check-Out:
- Explain and sell Public Programs, Nordic ski passes, and ski rentals to guests.
- Verify guest information, process reservations, and issue passes.
- Check-in guests and ensure all guests have signed a waiver via Smartwaiver.
- Customer Service:
- Present a professional and knowledgeable welcome to athletes, coaches, and guests.
- Responsible for providing the public with current events information, answering questions about Solider Hollow functions and Team SoHo Programs.
- Handle phone calls and other forms of communication professionally.
- Escalate more complex problems to management if necessary.
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders.
- Answer questions about the menu and make recommendations.
- Handle special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Order Preparation:
- Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages.
- Assemble and serve food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and soups.
- Ensure orders are accurate and presented neatly.
- Payment Handling:
- Process transactions using point-of-sale system.
- Handle credit/debit card payments and issue receipts.
- Maintaining Cleanliness:
- Keep the counter area clean and organized.
- Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper food safety practices.
- Adhering to Policies:
- Follow health and safety regulations.
- Comply with café policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food items.
All other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Food service experience preferred.
- All employees must possess a food handler’s permit or the ability to obtain one shortly after employment.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing manner with the public.
- Initiative, cleanliness, and organizational skills.
- Flexible work schedule – must be available to workdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work outdoors in all temperature/weather extremes.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Must be able to sit and stand on feet for extended time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing – to converse with others in a normal conversation.
- Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting.
