Job Responsibilities:
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
- Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
- Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
- Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions
- Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
- Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding on various materials (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum) as required.
- Use grinders, cutting torches, saws, and other fabrication tools.
- Operate a forklift to perform duties as needed.
- All other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills (Required):
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- General passion for creative problem-solving
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Welding certification (preferred but not always required).
- 1–3 years of welding or fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and PPE requirements.
- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
