Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
  • Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
  • Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed
  • Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and facility expansions
  • Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, or Stick welding on various materials (e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminum) as required.
  • Use grinders, cutting torches, saws, and other fabrication tools.
  • Operate a forklift to perform duties as needed.
  • All other duties as directed by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications & Skills (Required):

 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • General passion for creative problem-solving

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Welding certification (preferred but not always required).
  • 1–3 years of welding or fabrication experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of welding safety practices and PPE requirements.
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
