POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to ensure that company assets, including hardware and software, are utilized to maximum value. The ideal candidate will know how to manage systems for proper inventory and auditing to prevent theft or loss due to negligence. This person will be a strong problem solver and will use that skill to evaluate overall policies, procedures and systems necessary for proper asset management. Candidate will possess a working knowledge of supply chain logistics and chain of custody procedures. This position will monitor and following up on complaints, coordinating with other departments and working with Support Services management in developing policies and procedures that further departmental goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direction, leadership and supervision of asset management personnel
- Develop, mentor, motivate, and train asset management staff; seek to improve processes and procedures with the goal of delivering the highest level of service
- Develop, document, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for the day-to-day operations with Support Services management’s guidance
- Suggest and implement cost reduction purchasing strategies for both hardware and software
- Promote a strong culture committed to service quality through the successful execution of repeatable, well-designed processes
- Monitor the status of tickets and processes to ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner
- Communicate policy and procedural changes to Support Services management
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements and communicate to Support Services management
- Manage special projects as needed
- Evaluate software needs and provide recommendation where appropriate
- Act as the primary point of contact between Asset Management and other departments
- Ensure continual process improvement within the asset management department
- Identify and interview candidate(s) for the asset management team when needed
- Monitor work queues to ensure 100% compliance with SLAs
- Administer performance reviews
Due to customer requirements from time to time in a 24/7 operation, candidate may be required to be on call and/or on-site such as a weekend or evening.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three years experience in an asset management or supply chain supervisor role required
- Software licensing experience preferred
- Asset lifecyle experience preferred
- High degree of professionalism
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General knowledge of servers and configurations
- Excellent ability to manage multiple high priority efforts
- Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well within teams
- Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of software application products and services
- Adept at conducting research into software related issues
- Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical personnel
