Job Description:

The Medical Assistant II, under the direction of the Manager of First Medical Urgent Care, will assist with preparing patients for exam, administering approved medications, assisting with procedures and facilitating general communication with patients and providers.

  • Accurately takes vital signs and gives medications and injections as directed.
  • Performs all in-office testing as requested by provider.
  • Assists with minor surgical procedures/would care, dressing, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Triages and in-take patient demographics and vital signs.
  • Collects and inputs patient information into patients EMR using correct medical terminology.
  • Completes referrals, pre-certifications and prior authorizations.
  • Monitors and orders supplies and medications.
  • Maintains patient files.
  • Takes basic digital X-Rays.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • General X-ray Machine Operator (GXMO) Licensure.
  • Medical Assistant Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a medical office / urgent care setting preferred.
  • Clinical skills with knowledge of triaging, medical procedures, medications, Electronic Medical Records, General Radiography.

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force often.
