Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Operations Support Specialist 3 position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.

Salary: $48-$54/hr
Location:  Los Alamos, NM
Citizenship: US citizenship Required
Work Schedule: 4/10 schedule
Clearance: Need to have ability to acquire a Q clearance

Impact

As an Operations Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of facilities at Los Alamos National Laboratory. By acting as a key liaison between facility operations and programmatic tenants, you will help maintain high standards of performance, readiness, and regulatory compliance in support of national security missions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as the daily technical interface between facility operations and program tenants.
  • Assist with the implementation and oversight of facility operations programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation and procedural manuals.
  • Provide guidance on applicable government regulations and laboratory policies.
  • Support incident investigations and issues management reporting.
  • Participate in or support readiness reviews and activity approval processes.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and property accountability.
  • Manage facility-level access control and security coordination.
  • Develop and deliver training to ensure staff qualifications and compliance.
  • Track employee training and ensure adherence to DOE training requirements.
  • Deliver other administrative and compliance support as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supporting facility operations in a regulated or high-consequence environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance and quality assurance practices.
  • Familiarity with DOE regulations and laboratory operational standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and operational teams.
  • Proficient in incident reporting, operational documentation, and readiness activities.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working in or around DOE nuclear or high-security facilities.
  • Knowledge of DOE Order 426.2 requirements and training systems.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical writing experience for procedures and policy documents.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple facilities and stakeholder groups.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Postgraduate coursework is a plus.
  • This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, which requires personnel to meet qualification standards for nuclear facilities.
