Summary

As an Accounting/Bookkeeper at Sterling-e-marketing, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the agency. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and providing valuable insights to support our financial decision-making process.

Essential Duties

Financial Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accounted for and discrepancies are promptly resolved.

Expense Tracking: Maintain a detailed record of agency expenses, verify receipts, and allocate expenses to appropriate client accounts or cost centers.

Invoicing and Billing: Prepare and issue invoices to clients, track receivables, and follow up on outstanding payments.

Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll for agency employees, including tax deductions and benefits.

Financial Reporting: Generate and review financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights to the finance team and management.

Budget Management: Collaborate with department heads to monitor and control budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets.

Tax Compliance: Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate terms, and process vendor payments in a timely manner.

Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and providing support during financial audits.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

And/or Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in an advertising agency or creative industry.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Understanding of advertising industry financial processes is a plus.
