Under the supervision of the Area Director, the Program Director will oversee staff supervision, clinical client intervention, and safe operation of the program for formerly homeless individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnoses. This role includes being on call 24/7, creating a trauma-informed environment, motivating staff to use CPI and verbal de-escalation skills, ensuring client-centered services, and preparing for DOHMH, DHS, and LITC audits. The Program Director will also handle data collection and reporting, and collaborate with Property Management, Facilities, and external security to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for staff and residents.
Essential Position Functions:
- Supervise Case Managers, Vocational Counselors, and Residence Counselors with the Area Director. Oversee client services, including admission, ongoing operations, and discharge from the program.
- Ensure program readiness for successful DOHMH and DHS audits and reviews. Complete monthly data collection and submit reports.
- Available on call 24/7 for crisis intervention. Attend meetings and be willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Manage personnel activities with the Area Director, including hiring, scheduling, policy development, meetings, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and labor/management issues; perform administrative duties, including reviewing data entry accuracy, monitoring performance measures, petty cash, and staff attendance.
- Assess building maintenance needs and liaise with maintenance staff for repairs. Ensure overall facility management, including repairs and purchasing; work with consumers/residents, families, and staff in a caring and respectful manner, considering cultural differences.
- Conduct apartment inspections using stairs. Escort clients throughout the community using public transportation.
- Report serious incidents and complete incident reports according to Bridge policy. Account for consumers, perform diligent searches, and file missing person reports as needed.
- Attend staff meetings, supervision, and training as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
