Scope of Position: Supervise and support the real estate development team, including project managers, analysts, and external consultants. Foster a mission-driven culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation. Develop internal systems to improve project delivery, data tracking, and knowledge sharing.

Essential Position Functions:

- Lead the visioning, planning, and execution of the nonprofit’s real estate development strategy.
- Align development projects with community needs and organizational mission.
- Identify and evaluate new site opportunities, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and public-private partnerships.
- Direct all phases of affordable housing projects, including site feasibility, entitlement, design, and construction.
- Ensure compliance with funding and regulatory requirements, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), HUD, HOME, CDBG, and local/state subsidy programs.
- Oversee the preparation of development pro formas, financing applications, and board-level project approvals.
- Structure complex capital stacks that may include tax credits, grants, government subsidies, foundation investments, and conventional debt.
- Work with the CFO to monitor project budgets and long-term financial sustainability.
- Partner with the fundraising team on grant proposals and philanthropic investment strategies to support development.
