JOB SUMMARY:
Baristas report to the Local Good Coffee Co. General Manager and are responsible for creating a culture of excellent hospitality through the following:
- Create a warm and inviting space where all feel welcomed through excellent service
- Practice hospitality habits set forth by the General Manager. This includes attention to the details of guest service and interaction, food and drink preparation, cleanliness, and timeliness.
- Abide by all systems for product storing, sales, service, and guest interaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to the Local Good Coffee Co. Employee Handbook, including regulations on punctuality, shift swaps, and schedules
- Care for team members as you would care for yourself
- Demonstrate excellent hospitality for all guests always
- Communicate problems, plans, and changes to the GM effectively
- Develop an expert knowledge of coffee; communicate it effectively through beautiful and delicious drinks.
- Follow training for timeliness, opening/closing, store cleanliness, dialing in espresso/brewed coffee, prepping and serving foods, making drinks, checking out customers, cleaning kitchen/bar/tables, stocking, and closing register
PAY RANGE: Starts at $12/hr., plus tips

- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Must be punctual

- Ability to use the Point-of-Sale System with proficiency
EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Previous experience in coffee and food service desired
- Certified Food Handler Card will need to be obtained
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to communicate effectively and understandably with customers and other Local Good Coffee Co. staff, with high attention to customer service
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This fast-paced job requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally, sitting, talking, listening, using hands and arms, and sometimes bending or kneeling. The work environment usually has moderate noise. Reasonable accommodations are available to support individuals with disabilities.
