Central Music Director

JOB SUMMARY:

The Central Music Director oversees the musicians (vocalists and band members) at Chase Oaks throughout their journey from auditions to establishment on a team. This role leads with rotations at each campus to connect with the different teams and singers, provide equipment support, and provide training to upskill teams musically. The Central Music Director also ensures payments are processed correctly to keep budget on track and music gear at campuses is repaired or replaced when needed. This role also serves as a worship leader with the Central Worship Team.

Details

Central Worship Leader

  1. Attend weekly Worship Leaders meeting
  2. Lead as a part of the Central Worship Leader team
    1. Lead Friday night services
    2. Align with Central Worship team on worship sets/song lists
    3. Give input into song selection (feature songs and worship songs)
  3. Have regular check-in with Central Worship Pastor
  4. Cultivate good relationships with Campus Pastor and Campus Program Coordinator
  5. Oversee music and worship on Planning Center
  6. Schedule band members/singers every week in Planning Center
  7. Lead vocal/band rehearsal when scheduled at a campus
  8. Coordinate with Central Music Director on auditioning/onboarding new band members/singers
  9. Oversee Payroll Process
  10. Develop and encourage potential future worship leaders and band members

Auditions + Onboarding Musicians

  1. Create and implement audition process
    1. Collaborate with Campus Worship Leaders on their weekly musician and vocal needs
    2. Oversee musician audition process across campuses
  2. Manage onboarding process for paid musicians and singers
    1. Work with worship admin and HR on necessary paperwork
    2. Collaborate with the worship leaders on getting musician/vocalists added onto Planning Center and involved in services
    3. Communicate to new musician about onboarding next steps
  3. Finding Core Band members for future campuses

Musician Development

  1. Care for musicians and vocalists at campuses
  2. Musical development of musicians across campuses
  3. Work with Campus Worship Leaders to finds replacement musicians at campuses as needed
  4. Oversee interns and select residents

Charts

  1. Chart feature and worship songs in a timely manner
  2. Formats and uploads lyrics for worship, production and communication teams

Planning Center Management

  1. Maintain Planning Center process for charts, lyrics, and .mp3s for each campus arrangement.
  2. Keep all .mp3 original files. Suggest .mp3 edits for campus arrangements. Reflect these changes on charts and lyrics

Musical Gear Management

  1. Oversee the process of gear replacement and the updating of the gear rider; go to campuses regularly to check on music equipment
  2. Oversee custom in-ear ordering process for worship leaders and musicians
  3. Occasional purchasing of specific gear for musicians

Financial Coordination

  1. Oversee musicians’ pay
  2. Work with worship admin to approve musicians’ pay (bi-monthly)

Digital Initiatives

  1. Directs music during all online recording initiatives and special events
  2. Available to track audio for vocals/guitar

  • Minimum 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in Digital Audio Workstations
  • Experience in Multitracks Playback
  • Experience in the different equipment used on stage and in software used by the worship team.

 

EDUCATION DESIRED

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency; college degree preferred

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee core band members across campuses
  • Oversee any worship interns

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries is also required.  High attention to customer service.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with production so worship technologies and production can work in harmony with each other.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
    Data Entry skill & experience
  • Familiarity with Databases
  • Mac navigation
  • Working with Addigy (remote software)
  • Working knowledge in Protools or Ableton.
  • Understanding and management of Multitrack’s Playback App
  • Ability to export tracks, upload to Multitracks, and properly have tracks ready for use at campuses
  • Ability to teach processes to other worship leaders and team members
