REEFER TECHNICIAN

The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the transport refrigeration industry. Commercial/residential air and/or refrigeration, welding and mechanic skills are a plus. This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics. We are willing to train the right applicant.

Duties will include:

• Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include: performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements.
• Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
• Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
• Must be able to diagnose and perform proper repairs
• Conform to all safety and health standards

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical, or equivalent, experience
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Must be able to be “on-call” for after-hours service
• Must have own tools
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail and highly organized
