Lum's GMC is seeking a highly skilled and qualified automotive technician to serve as Main Shop Team Lead in McMinnville, Oregon.  This position will oversee a team of technicians, assisting with the diagnosis and repair of all vehicles, as well as greatly impacts the future generation of technicians!

Lead Automotive Technician Responsibilities:

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
  • Dispatching the work of a team of technicians, assisting them with diagnoses and mentoring them in their technician careers.

Schedule: Day shift, includes Saturdays. 


Pay: $40-$50 per hour, depending on experience. Lum's will consider paying relocation and initial travel expenses (during relocation period) for the right candidate.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Service Technician experience required
  • ASE or GM Certification a plus
  • A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair 
  • Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Positive, friendly, empathetic attitude, along with a customer service mentality
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Must provide your own tools



Education:

High school or equivalent (Required)


Experience:

  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred) Technician
  • Experience: 3 years
