POSITION:               Career Technical Education Teacher

SALARY:                   $59,264 to  $77,712  DOE (Contract starting school year 2025-2026) 

REPORTS TO:       School Principal

LOCATION:             Pascal Sherman Indian School, OMAK, WA 

 

Basic Functions:      This is a non exempt position. The purpose of the CTE Instructor is to supervise and instruct students in assigned area of Career Technical Education and career development; provide an educational program for students in the especifically assigned career area.  Under the direction of the assined supervisor, provide extensive, instructional support and traing related to the Career Technical Education (CTE) occuation being hired for as part of a program of study based on state adopted Career Technical Education (CTE) standard.

 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Requires a CTE certification in the State of Washington
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires three years of work experience directly related to the subject being taught.
  • Requires valid Washington State Drivers license.
  • Must obtain a First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire. 
  • Requires a valid WA State Drivers' license.
  • Requires proof of degree/transcripts, certifications, and THREE written letters of reference along with application.

  • Requires knowledge in the planning process for development of and or modifications of curriculum as needs.
  • Requires knowledge in developing and implementing instructional plans which allows for all students to meet established standards of student achievement focusing on basic workplace and job specific skills in preparationf for career placement.
  • Requires strong commitment to cultural inclusivity and workig with indigenous language teachers to promote immersion.
  • Requires excellent comminication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reqires the ability to manage a classroom effectively, fostering both individual and collaborative student learning.
  • Requires ability to maintain classroom control.
  • Requires ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Requires social skills necessary to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and the public.
  • Ability to Develop successful instructional strategies for non-traditional or acedemically at risk students.
  • Ability to establish appropriate, positive and healthy relationships among youth.
  • Ability to develop program goals and objectives and derive appropriate methods for translating these into student performance competencies.
  • Ablility to establish, maintain and manage standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning environment conducive to learining.
  • Ability to evaluate student acedemic growth; keep appropriate records on this progress of students toward meeting established standards of achievement and performance.
  • Ability to identify student needs and collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, assigned supervisor, staff, nurse, psychologist, parents and comminity agencies in assessing and helping students solve health, attitue and learning problems.
  • Ability to monitor, observe and report student behavior and progress according to approved policies and procedures.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
