POSITION: Medical Assistant (Possible Trainee)
SALARY: $16.53 -19.14, per hour DOE; Trainee will be adjusted according to training plan
REPORTS TO: RN
LOCATION: Inchelium Health Center; Inchelium, WA
Basic Functions: Assist the provider with several tasks, both clinical and administrative. Must understand how to use equipment to take patient vital signs, enter patient data accurately into EHR system. Should be detail-oriented and have interpersonal skills to work with team and patients.
The Lake Roosevelt Community Health Centers is accepting applications for Trainee position to accomplish the following certifications, Certified Medical Assistant. This training program is for an individual that is serious about becoming a healthcare worker. LRCHC will pay for individual to receive training through Washington Association for Community Health, Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program and pay for all certifications.
After the Trainee has received the certifications they will be expected to be able to do the following:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Patient Care
- Vital signs, assessments for office visit. Collect and document UDS and GPRA measures.
- Maintain RPMS packages
- Performs EKGs, nebulizer treatments, ear lavages.
- Applies splints, braces and dispenses crutches.
- Set up and assist with procedures as assigned by provider.
- Performs wound cleaning and dressing.
- Assist with injections and oral medication.
- Makes follow up calls to patient and documents correctly.
- Provides patient walk back and general patient escorts throughout health center. Directs patients to appropriate areas for treatment.
- Cleans and autoclaves instruments, exam rooms, procedural equipment.
- Maintains and re-stocks appropriate levels of exam and procedure room, stock supplies.
- Ensures proper documentation in patient medical chart including all correspondence with patients and other providers, medications, and any other information relevant to patient care.
- Work within limits of certification under direct supervision and direction of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and the registered nurse.
- Performs all duties using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials.
- Works as a team member with clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Professional conduct, ethics, and confidentiality are expected at all times.
- Performs all equipment maintenance as required.
