MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:Â
- Typically requires an Associates’ degree and four years of progressive experience in human services including two years of supervisory experience.  Additional higher education may substitute for some experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and be eligible for the Tribes’ vehicle insurance.Â
- Requires a 1st aid and CPR card or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire.Â
- Maintain license, insurance eligibility and 1st aid/CPR throughout employment.
- Requires a negative TB test result prior to start date. Â
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of pertinent Federal, State and Tribal Law and provisions pertaining to the position.Â
- Requires knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the clientele and social services.
- Requires a working knowledge of personal computer and multimedia equipment operations including common office productivity software, internet, and computer-aided programs supporting education.  Â
- Requires sufficient math skills to read and understand statistical concepts.Â
- Requires professional level writing skills sufficient to prepare reports.Â
- Requires well-developed oral communications skills to work cooperatively with a diverse population of clientele. Â
- Possess excellent writing skills, record keeping, a and documentation.
- Requires well-developed human relations skill to conduct persuasive formal presentations to diverse audiences, facilitate small group processes, present ideas clearly, resolve conflict, and convey technical concepts to others.Â
- Requires the ability to carry out the essential functions of the position.
- Requires the ability to manage and coordinate large, complex, and politically sensitive projects including budgets, time lines, and quality of work product.Â
- Requires the ability to review, prepare or direct the preparation of complex plans, applications, specifications and legal contracts. Â
- Requires the ability to understand and interpret all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standard.
- Requires ability to work under tense, demanding situations and to respond appropriately and professionally in crisis situations.
- Requires the ability to establish objectives, give direction, train, and review performance of planners and support staff.Â
- Requires the ability to use sound judgement when making decisions, interpretations, and in communications with others.Â
- Requires the ability to work extended hours for the purpose of conducting meetings and public processes.
- Requires the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse population of citizens.
- Requires the ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively.Â
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients and staff.Â
- Requires the ability to operate a computer and work with various computer software, including Microsoft Word. Â
- Requires the ability to lead work teams, work productively and cooperatively with other teams and external customers, and convey a positive image of the City.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
