The Bullis Upper School Science Department values collaboration and nurtures a culture of continuous growth and collegial support. Teachers keep up to date with current advances in science, teaching resources, pedagogy, and national objectives and have opportunities to collaboratively research and craft differentiated, engaging lessons for students. Science courses are taught in technology-rich laboratory classrooms in the school’s newest building devoted to STEM and Entrepreneurship. Students engage in inquiry-based experimentation, keep records of laboratory work, and are authentically assessed on content as well as laboratory skills. Each year Bullis science teachers incorporate research, experimental design, and STEM projects in which students practice Bullis' core values while gaining a deeper understanding of the natural world around us.
