Essential Functions:
- Responsible for supervision and support to adults with developmental disabilities including, but not limited to, money management, personal hygiene, community integration, skill building and maintaining a safe environment.
- Responsible for keeping accurate documentation including, but not limited to, transportation, billing, and program documentation.
- Safely provide Non-Medical Transportation as needed.
- Routinely check functions of van and maintain proper maintenance schedule for the vehicle.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in good working order.
- Contribute to and attend weekly staff/house meetings.
- Promote a supportive environment by modeling the guidelines of company philosophy, confidentiality, people-first language, empowerment, and fair and reasonable treatment of others.
- Maintain confidentiality of HIPAA records and promoting Individual Rights.
- Promote self-advocacy efforts to those PALS serves in areas such as expression of views, securing rights, pursuing interests and obtaining the services.
- Implement and provide programming to cultivate skills that lead to increased autonomy and self-sufficiency for those PALS serves.
- Provide learning opportunities for individuals to develop the necessary skills, confidence and knowledge to assist in bringing about positive change in their lives.
- Attend monthly self-advocacy meetings with other PALS Self Advocacy Coordinators
- Conduct bi-weekly self-advocacy meetings with the individuals on location.
- Schedule and manage a minimum of 4 self-advocacy fundraisers annually.
- Attend annual self-advocacy awareness events such as the annual visit to the State house, synergy meetings, and amusement park. Some events may require overnight stays.
- Maintain and oversee the self-advocacy budget and ensure funds are used in the furtherance of self-advocacy efforts.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
