Summit Home Care and Hospice is searching for an experienced and motivated State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) to join our Home Health team. Full-Time STNA:
- Shift: Dayshift, Monday – Friday (40 Hours/Week)
- Pay Rate: $18.00 - $22.00 per Hour
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Expected Travel: 30 Mile Radius (Mileage Reimbursement, $0.48/Mile)
Responsibilities:
- A member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient's needs.
- Responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed.
- Will be assigned by a Registered Nurse in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a patient's care.
- Provide personal care including, but not limited to:
- Bathing and/or shampooing hair.
- Assisting with oral hygiene.
- Back rubs/massages as necessary.
- Changing bed linens and assisting with other laundry as appropriate.
- Assisting with dressing and undressing.
- Administering skin care to prevent breakdown.
- Helping with toileting activities.
- Maintaining a clean and orderly living area for patients, as needed.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist in feeding the patient, if necessary.
- Take and record oral, rectal, and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
- Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
- Assist patient in the self-administration of medication.
- Meet the safety needs of patients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
- Report on patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.
- Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
