Summit Home Care & Hospice is excited to expand our services with a new caregiving division—and we’re looking for compassionate, dependable Home Health Aides (HHA) to grow with us! As a Home Health Aide, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients with daily living activities and personal care needs. You’ll work under the supervision of a Care Coordinator Supervisor and be a trusted presence in the lives of those you serve.  

Home Health Aide (HHA):  

  • Job Type: PRN/As Needed 

  • Location: Columbus, Ohio (Franklin County & Surrounding Counties) 

  • Pay Rate: $14.00-$16.00 per Hour 

  • Travel: Required for In-Home Visits 

Responsibilities:  

  • Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. 

  • Helping with oral hygiene and hair care. 

  • Supporting mobility and exercise routines. 

  • Preparing meals and assisting with feeding when needed. 

  • Light housekeeping, including changing bed linens, laundry, and tidying living spaces. 

  • Providing medication reminders. 

  • Monitoring and recording vital signs (with proper training). 

  • Observing and reporting changes in patient condition. 

  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. 

  • Following care plans and documentation procedures. 

  • Being a kind, respectful, and reliable presence in the home. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:  

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.  

  • Meet training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws for home health aides. 

  • Must have current CPR and First-Aid certifications.  

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.  

Skills & Abilities:  

  • Able to read, follow care plans, and document services provided. 

  • Self-directed, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Compassionate, patient, and respectful toward individuals with varying needs. 

  • Maintains good hygiene and a professional appearance. 

  • Physically able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and assist with patient mobility. 

  • Adequate vision and hearing to safely perform care tasks.
