Reports To: Assistant Controller

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000

SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for a wide range of accounting functions at a corporate level related to general ledger accounting to include preparing, reviewing and tracking journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations and special projects/other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the month-end close process and meet scheduled deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations as assigned.
• Manage payables workflow and the delegation of authority matrix in the ERP system.
• Responsible for reviewing and updating the GL coding within the purchasing area.
• Review general ledger activity to ensure accurate coding.
• Administer employee expense management system (Expensify) & process expense reimbursements.
• Responsible for creating templates and weekly payment inputs within the payment system.
• Run payables and expense financial reports.
• Initiate process and system improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency of department tasks.
• Support the annual audit with the Company’s external auditors.
• Special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Knowledge of principles, practices, theories and methods of accounting.
•Strong Microsoft office skills with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
•Strong customer service skills; the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, peers and other departments.
•Ability to define problems, assemble related data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
•Ability to exercise good judgment and make accurate and timely decisions.
•Ability to prioritize tasks in an environment of changing time constraints and deadlines.
•Ability to work as a team player and exhibit a high degree of flexibility, energy, and positive attitude.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business from a fully accredited college or university is preferred.
•2 or more years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably in NetSuite or equivalent and multi-entity corporate environment.
•Experience in ACH and wires and onboarding of new vendors.
•Public Accounting experience preferred but not required.
