Position Details

Perham Health is seeking a dependable Lab Courier to join our team on an as-needed (PRN) basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely transport of lab specimens, medical records, and other items between our facility and partner sites. This position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of quality patient care by ensuring prompt and secure specimen handling.

• Transport laboratory specimens and other medical materials between Perham Health and designated locations, including facilities in Detroit Lakes and Wadena, with occasional deliveries to Fergus Falls, Fargo, or other locations as needed.
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of transport activities.
• Follow designated routes and schedules, as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with other staff and external partners.

What You Offer

• Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.
• A reliable personal vehicle is required, as you will use your own vehicle for transport duties. 
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability.
• Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines and safe handling of biohazard materials, or the ability to be trained in these areas.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Casual/PRN – Lab Couriers will be contacted on an as-needed basis, to check their availability for courier needs at that time.
• Courier requests may arise during any shift, including days, evenings, and overnights; and any day of the week including weekdays and weekends.
• Compensation is $16.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
