Maintaining all aspects of the building (interior and exterior) by performing any necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs can include but are not limited to certain aspects of: Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Wall repair, Carpentry, Masonry, Basic construction and repair, Basic appliance repair.
Â
Knowledge of fire codes/safety.
Move furniture when necessary.
Wax floors.
Install, build, assemble Program equipment.
Set up and break down for special events/activities.
Heavy cleaning as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
Assist with housekeeping as required.
Shovel sidewalks of ice/snow; mop floors during wet/snowy weather.
Assist with the upkeep of agency vehicles.
Attend in-service trainings.
Report any safety/maintenance hazards to your supervisor and repairing what can be repaired.
Cover in the absence of the maintenance supervisor.
Respond to work orders in a timely basis.
Attend in-service training
Be available to drive for any given program in case of emergency, when available.
Attend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager.
Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serve.
Must work to keep the environment of the individuals we serve clean and attractive.

Mandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position.

Attendance/Punctuality is consistently at work and on time. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. Arrives at meetings and appointments on time
