- Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, confidentiality, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers. Â
- Assist in training new staff and students completing externship.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid Driver license and clear driving record.
- Due to insurance and regulatory requirements, applicants must be 21 or more years old.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Education and experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Prefer one to two years of experience.
- History working with NextGen software and medical coding training, or certification are preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS
- Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
- Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly with patients in person and over the telephone.
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Â
- Cognitive: Aptitude to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem-solving, and comprehending.     Â
- Motor Function & Mobility:
- Ability to move within the work environment to complete tasks and interact with others.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and other movements typical of a standard workday.
- Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, operating tools or equipment, and handling materials.
- Some pushing and pulling required during daily tasks.
