Pay Range: $17.00/hourly
Reports to: Capital Campaign Manager

Scott Family Amazeum Overview

The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow.

 Core Purpose:  The Amazeum exists to spark and nurture the curious and creative spirit in all of us.

 Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.

 The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.

 

Position Summary

The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Development team to meet the development goals of this dynamic museum. The Development Coordinator will be a keystone team member, focusing on assisting with the annual fund, direct mail, special events, and donor stewardship initiatives. In addition, this role will be crucial to supporting the current capital campaign, and have willingness to engage donors and stakeholders as the campaign makes progress to completion. This position will also be responsible for effectively and efficiently using resources and the donor management system to measure and achieve development goals. They will be asked to think both strategically about the larger efforts of the department, along with performing highly detailed and creative work daily.

 

Essential Functions

  • Oversee accurate gift processing standards, including timely gift entry, acknowledgment, and data integrity.
  • Effectively utilize the donor tracking database through the accurate entry, advanced reports, and integrated communication options.
  • Ensure all donors are acknowledged in a timely manner.
  • Along with the Development team, manage a pipeline of donors to welcome supporters at every level and further leverage their generosity.
  • As workload allows, grow a small portfolio of individual donors.
  • Actively participate in the annual creation of the Development Plan and follow through on its successful completion.
  • Create and implement an annual strategy for cultivating and stewarding donors through mailings, social media, events, targeted appeals, emails, and other innovative techniques that can attract a diverse range of donors.
  • Remain current on the latest fundraising techniques to attract new donors and adopt new practices to further the agency’s fundraising goals.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop donor solicitations, printed materials, and technology to cross-promote museum messaging.
  • Provide input on stewardship strategies to seamlessly transition between event rentals, fundraising events, and stewardship activities.
  • Solicit needed in-kind donations.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 18+ years of age
  • 1+ year data entry
  • 1+ year database experience
  • 1+ year Google Suite and MS Office experience
  • 1+ year guest/customer service relations experience
  • 1+ year fundraising/sales experience
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on organizational needs and special events.
  •  Strong verbal/interpersonal skills
  •  Strong written communication skills (writing, editing, proofreading)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit or stand at a computer workstation for extended periods (up to 4–6 hours at a time).
  • Ability to move throughout the museum and office spaces regularly to attend meetings, assist with events, or retrieve materials.
  • Must be able to lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally (e.g., event supplies, mailings, donor packets).
  • Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels, including active gallery spaces or event venues.
  • Occasional local travel required to attend offsite meetings, donor visits, or community events.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions (such as data entry or preparing mailings).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for fundraising events or museum programming.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous non-profit experience
  • Experience with a CRM (Tessitura, DonorPerfect, Raiser’s Edge, etc.)
  • Previous individual giving/fundraising experience (knowledge of donor relations, stewardship)
  • Ability to manage complex tasks, challenging projects and competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in data analytics, with a strong desire to learn and maximize technology’s potential.
  • Knowledge and experience in planning and executing events as well as working with a variety of stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Critical thinking
  • Be a self-starter and team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Be a creative problem solver who delights in overcoming challenges.
