Classification

Type: full-time, exempt position

Schedule:  Approximately 40 hours a week with occasional weekends, events, and holidays.

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

 

Scott Family Amazeum Overview

The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. We create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow. 

Core Purpose: The Amazeum exists to sport and nurture the curious and creative spirit in all of us.

 Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play. 

The Amazeum facility includes approximately 50,000 square feet of indoor space and one acre of outdoor exhibition and activity space. The museum is located at the intersection of Museum Way and J Street in Bentonville, AR.

 Position Summary

The Membership & Annual Giving Manager will build and drive the Amazeum’s annual giving engine and lead the strategic growth of its membership program. Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer, this role is responsible for the development and execution of donor and member engagement strategies that strengthen long-term support. The Manager leads multi-channel campaigns and cultivates relationships with individual donors and members, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and maximize impact. By aligning membership with broader philanthropic goals, this position plays a key role in expanding the donor pipeline and deepening community connection to the Amazeum.

Essential Functions

Annual Giving

  • Design, execute and optimize the annual giving program, including annual appeals, direct solicitations, fundraising campaigns, and other initiatives to increase support.
  • Own the donor pipeline: prospect research and identification, cultivation, solicitation, and renewal with performance metrics. Monitor and maintain clear metrics for acquisition, renewal, upgrades, and retention.  
  • Collaborate with the communications team, internal teams, and consultants on integrated messaging, appeals and donor stewardship communications internally and externally

Membership Strategy & Management

  • Lead strategic planning and execution for member acquisition and retention campaigns across channels (digital, onsite, print).
  • Develop and grow membership levels, benefits, and pricing strategy to align with organizational goals. 
  • Oversee monthly renewals, fulfillment and communications including data pulls, content updates and performance tracking.

Donor and Member Relations

  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and contributing members.
  • Scheduling and hold donor and prospect meetings; preparing talking points, proposals, presentations and other materials. Manage a strategic portfolio of prospects and current donors cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships through in-person, virtual and written communication
  • Support annual fundraising events managed by the Development department, including donor recognition and follow up.

Data & Reporting

  • Learn and leverage Tessitura and related CRM tools to record and track gifts, manage donor information, and ensure data integrity. 
  • Build  dashboards and generate regular reports to measure campaign and program effectiveness, inform strategy, and measure progress towards fundraising goals, and recommend adjustments as needed. 
  • Ensure data integrity and audit-ready records are maintained.

Collaboration & Community Engagement 

  • Work across all Amazeum departments internal and with external  partners to implement consistent strategies and communications to target audience.
  • Represent the Amazeum in the community by traveling to donor meetings, cultivation events, and networking opportunities. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required to meet with donors and community partners and to support fundraising events.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in fundraising OR membership OR related field 
  • 1+ year experience using donor databases or similar CRM products (Tessitura, Raiser's Edge, Donor Perfect, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience in program or project management 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively and with initiative towards goals
  • Effective collaboration skills with multiple stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Workspace 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing strategies

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds to a height of at least three feet for event and office preparation.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events and community activities.
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for prolonged periods to complete data entry, reporting, and communication tasks.
  • Sufficient vision to read printed materials and computer screens, and to prepare donor materials.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in virtual meetings.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally, including transporting materials for donor meetings and events.

Preferred Skills: 

  • BS or BA from an accredited college or university
  • Previous non-profit experience
  • Previous development experience 
  • Bilingual
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to align donors’ interests to the mission of the Amazeum
