JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Elicit a comprehensive health history including family history, past medical history, social history and current illnesses as well as history of present illness(es).

Perform routine physical examinations, including cardiology focused examinations and general examinations.

Order and/or perform appropriate diagnostic tests.

Analyze diagnostic tests, examine findings and collaborate with the physician. Develop and implement with the patient, and/or family, a plan of care to promote, maintain or restore health. Provide anticipatory guidance.

Administer medications and injections per protocol.

Counsel and advise patients regarding health promotion and illness prevention activities. Evaluate the plan of care with the patient and revise, as needed.

Provide health care instruction regarding medications, treatment and comfort measures.

Make appropriate health care referrals. Collaborate with other health care and social service individuals.

Document encounters appropriately, provide expertise to the clinical nursing staff and collaborate with the physician to develop and revise practice guidelines.

Perform related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and successful completion of an advanced practice registered nurse program OR Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program

Successful completion of a post basic advanced practice formal education program in the area of Cardiology
-
At least 2 years of experience as an advanced practice provider in cardiology or related field.

Successful completion of all other requirements to practice

Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to sharp objects, communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, blood, bodily fluids, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other waste common to a health care environment. Requirements may include working irregular hours.        Â

The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria.Â
