JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages and provide information as needed.

Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.

Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in the electronic medical record. Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.

Collect samples into Laboratory Information System

Prepare orders and labels to be collected by phlebotomists

Maintain processing and flow of patients in an efficient manner

Give patient instructions about lab tests

Respond to routine requests for information.

Maintain work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner.

Perform related work as required.

Potential for travel to other lab locations. Mileage will be reimbursed after employee submits to supervisor.Â

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 25 pounds. Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a reception area and involves frequent contact with patients and other employees. Requirements may include working irregular hours.
