Collaborative Pianist
Brophy College Preparatory seeks to hire a part-time collaborative pianist for its choral music program beginning fall 2025.
Position Reports To: Dr. Teresa Murphy, Choir Faculty
Classification: Exempt, Stipend
Job Status: Part Time (20-25 hours/week), 9.5 Month Schedule from early August 2025 through mid-May 2026, with the goal to return annually each August for the following school year.
Hours: Classes rotate on a block schedule. Work hours are approximately 20-25 hours per week, typically 7:30 am to 11:30 am.

Compensation: The Collaborative Pianist will receive a stipend for the 25-26 school year, which equates to $23-28/hour (dependent upon experience) for 20 hours weekly, plus an estimated 7 additional hours per semester for concerts and rehearsals.
Position Summary:
The collaborative pianist will assist the choir director in all aspects of developing the choir program by providing accompaniment, by assisting with direct instruction in sectionals and at other times, as well as by administering to the musical and organizational requirements of the school. This person may also work with individual students or small extracurricular groups to help them improve their musical skills outside of the classroom. The collaborative pianist will accompany choirs during several evening concerts throughout the year, weekend festivals, and occasional special events on and off campus, as well as during liturgical ministry such as Masses and prayer services on campus.
