Assemblers are responsible for completing the installation of all trailer components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Actively observe and promote BWise safety standards
- Using hoist, pick up trailer frames or beds from carts to position for assembly work.
- Attach axles.
- Attach tires.
- Install harness lights
- Wire frames.
- Place bed on top of frame.
- Set bed on frame and insert bed pins.
- Place combo or one-piece tailgate in place.
- Using saw, cut wood to dimension and put in place on trailer bed.
- Screw the wood onto the trailer bed.
- Place ramps on trailers.
- Pin components together that comprise the hoist.
- Tie wire from the frame to the one coming out of the bed.
- Test hydraulics, where applicable.
- Build parts orders assemblies
- Other duties, as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be capable of standing for entire shift and sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to demonstrate full range of motion for reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping.
- Will be exposed to extreme heat and cold depending on weather.
- Subject to dirt, dust, oil, welding fumes, traffic hazards, and high noise levels in the workplace.
PPE REQUIREMENTS
- Steel-toed shoes or composite shoes
- Safety glasses
- Earplugs
- Gloves when handling any material
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to read, write, count, communicate by various channels.
- Manufacturing related experience
