Summit Medical Center is looking for a Director of Human Resources to join our Quality Care Team.

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of recruitment, employee relations, counseling, and compensation functions as assigned.

The staffing of the Summit Medical Center is based on a teamwork concept. Employees may be cross-trained in other administrative areas and may be expected to perform duties beyond their everyday responsibilities as staffing and patient needs change.

Responsibilities:

1.           Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.

2.           Prepares recruiting advertisements and updates the website as needed. 

3.           Makes job offers on behalf of the hospital and works in conjunction with the Employee Health Nurse to conduct pre-employment screening. 

4.           Communicates the policies and benefits of the hospital, participates in orientation, and initiates payroll records for new employees. 

5.           Advises and assists management staff in the application and interpretation of personnel policies, legal compliance, grievance and discipline problems, manpower planning, transfers, and terminations. 

6.           Assists with salary surveys, audits, and benefits administration.

7.           Process bi-weekly payroll.

8.           Maintains established center/departmental policies and procedures

9.           Maintains confidentiality of patient, employee, and center-related business

10.        Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors, and other center employees

11.        Documents concisely, precisely, and accurately on all records or documents as indicated by policy.

12.        Participates in Quality Assessment activities as directed for the continuous improvement

13.        Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.

14.        Participates in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required. 

15.        Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent  
  2. Sufficient previous human resources experience
  3. Must be alert, honest, and of good character
