SUMMARY
The Avionics Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of aircraft avionics systems and components. This includes ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and customer specifications, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform installation, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems including navigation, communication, transponder, autopilot, and DME systems.
- Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals.
- Submit completed work for inspection and ensure all maintenance meets FAA and internal quality standards.
- Use test equipment to evaluate performance and functionality of avionics systems.
- Repair and/or replace components and wiring; perform splicing, soldering, and wire terminations.
- Maintain records, complete work order sign-offs, and enter labor in maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Corridor).
- Tag and store customer property correctly; ensure traceability and accountability of all equipment.
- Support line maintenance and installation teams as needed.
- Ensure all workspaces are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintain knowledge of company procedures and FAA regulations.
