Summary

  • Provides assistance to the financial crimes team and supports the recovery of losses. Assists in the maintenance of risk and compliance management driven processes affecting the Credit Union.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responds to internal and external fraud alerts and reports received from multiple sources, including fraud detection software and other internal systems, to detect and respond to suspicious and fraudulent activity.
  • Contacts and effectively communicates with members, peers, and front-line staff, as needed via multiple channels (phone, email, secure messages) to obtain and/or validate information and confirm authorization of transactions or other account activity.
  • Supports and assists with collection efforts internally and with third party relationships.
  • Investigates, assists and makes decisions on disputed transactions.
  • Continuously demonstrates a strong analytical ability to research and interpret data and assist in building, documenting and maintaining effective policies and procedures.
  • Supports a fraud aware culture through the development and delivery of internal anti-fraud training and communication.
  • Assumes responsibility on gathering data and prepares reports for the organization, auditors and other personnel, as needed.
  • Stays abreast of compliance and risk related subjects by participating in professional organizations, coursework, workshops, or reading professional literature
  • Responsible for adhering to operational controls, including compliance with all required regulations and policies such as the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to ensure the safety and soundness of the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union and its members.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working for a financial institution, or equivalent experience.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
