Works closely with Operations Managers to support staff, volunteer, and community service programs. Provides supervision and training to support the deliverance of humane animal husbandry and superior customer service in accordance with the AHS mission, goals and management philosophy. Support the animal welfare manager with administrative and personnel related tasks.
Personnel
- Promotes a culture of teamwork, positivity, compassion, and performance excellence
- Assists the Animal Welfare Manager in personnel related tasks, including new hire interviews,
training, and day to day supervision of staff, volunteers, and community service
- Provides input for periodic and annual evaluations in accordance with AHS policies
Administration
- Supports the Animal Welfare Manager in managing supply inventory to include ordering, receiving and distribution
- Ensures record keeping and accuracy as it pertains to ordering and receiving, adoption paperwork, receipts, cash reconciliations and deposits, and animal records
- Handles agency funds according to protocol and reports cash discrepancies promptly
- Performs bank deposits
- Supervises the ethical stewardship of donated goods and resources
- Attends managerial meetings and events as needed
- Facilitates training of staff, volunteers, and community service volunteers
Program Support
- Supports Management and staff in providing the highest level of customer service to clients and visitors
- Supports Management in the day to day supervision and coordinating of animal care activities, customer service, and enforcement of AHS policies and guidelines
- Ensures staff and volunteers are trained to counsel customers with organizationally approved content such as basic medical information, behavior profiles, breed information, and adoption package benefits to help clients make good choices.
- Trains staff to solicit for donations and encourages purchase of pet supplies
- Supervises the physical wellbeing, cleaning, exercise, and daily emotional enrichment of animals available for adoption
- Supervises and periodically audits the maintenance of animal care records, proper feeding, medicating,
and delivery of veterinary care to animals available for adoption
- Promotes humane animal handling according to established safety policies and procedures
- Supervises and coordinates AHS cleaning, disease control, and quarantine protocol activities
- Supervises the upkeep, safety, and sanitation of animal enclosures, public areas, workspaces, and equipment
- Trains staff, volunteers, and community service in the safe handling of cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment in compliance with safety rules and according to SDS rules
- Collaborates with other departments to accomplish departmental and organizational goals
- Support staff in completion of daily tasks
