Job Responsibilities
- Ability to plan and engage youth in daily independent living skills including but not limited to: budgeting, grocery shopping, laundry, cooking.
- Serve as a mentor, demonstrating positive social skills and actively promoting involvement in school and community engagement activities.
- Assist youth with daily responsibilities and routines including homework, meal preparation, hygiene, and household chores.
- Demonstrated decision-making, organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, with attention to detail.
- Ability to form therapeutic relationships with youth characterized by empathy, authenticity, and positive regard.
- Work with a culturally and economically diverse population.
- Knowledge of group dynamics preferred.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required;
- Associates or Bachelors Degree in Human Services preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with at risk youth preferred; ideally in a residential, or youth development setting.
- experience working in youth programming, coaching/teaching, childcare or other human service fields preferred.
- TCI, First Aid/CPR certification required, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
- Reliable availability for evening and weekend shifts.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license with acceptable driving history to the Agency.
- Microsoft Office skills required.
Schedule
- Weekday (Monday - Friday) shifts available:
- evening 3 pm - 11 pm
- overnight 11 pm - 7 am *
- Weekend (Saturday & Sunday) shifts available:
- day 7 am - 3 pm
- evening 3 pm - 11 pm
- overnight 11 pm - 7 pm *
Pay
- $20 per hour
- $ 2 shift differential for overnight shifts
