General Description: The medical liaison involves supporting physicians and medical staff in providing high-quality care to Chinese-speaking patients, ensuring clear communication and coordination throughout the treatment process.
Essential Functions:
- Educate and guide patients on IVF procedures, treatment protocols, medications, and injections.
- Counsel patients on infertility treatment protocols.
- Responsible for the ongoing communication between the Physician and patient.
- Coordinate upcoming procedures.
- Schedule follow-up appointments.
- Work closely with and serve as a resource to the in-house donor program for other coordinators on the Third-Party team, IVF staff, NHFC physicians and nurses.
- Explain in detail to patient financial contracts, depending on the patient's age group, and treatment plan.
- Ensures that all medical request forms are completed correctly and processed accordingly.
- Informs patients of the costs of care being provided. Collects and post co-payments, according to protocols; prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms and fees to the fiscal department.
- Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
- Other duties and special projects are assigned by the team leader/management.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent preferred
- Graduate of a certified medical office training course preferred.
- 2 years experience in a customer service environment
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill, or distraught patients.
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualification:
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
