JOB SUMMARY:

The ReStore Assistant Manager is charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ReStore when the manager is not present, and as assistant to the manager to achieve sales and operational goals. Acting as a brand ambassador for Habitat for Humanity, the ReStore assistant manager is responsible for supporting a clean and safe facility, helping drive sales, ensuring an exceptional and positive customer experience and donation drop off experience. Assistant Manager supports the manager to achieve positive net profit generation of the store, sales and KPI target achievement. Directly the assistant oversee donation receiving and pricing activities, supervision and empowerment of ReStore staff and volunteers, and provides superior customer service to customers, donors, staff and volunteers.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports gross and net financial growth of the assigned ReStore.
  • Responsible for an incredible positive experience each and every time someone engages their ReStore.
  • Administers daily operation of ReStore.
    1. Ensuring sales targets, tasks and responsibilities are well communicated and executed.
    2. Evaluation of incoming donations for quality and positive donor experience.
      1. The use of pricing guidelines to enable other staff/volunteers to price items.
      2. Effective display of merchandise in a way that maximizes sales and shoppability.
    3. Schedules and coordinates volunteer engagement in the restore.
      1. Recognition, appreciation, and accommodation for ReStore Volunteers.
      2. Collaborate with Volunteer Experience staff to ensure all volunteers are well-utilized and appreciated in their roles in the ReStore.
    4. Ensure that all areas of the store/warehouse are safe, clean, and organized.
    5. Perform basic facility maintenance.
    6. Participation in Social Media posting and engagement.
  • Supports the enforcement of ReStore record keeping policies and procedures as outlined by leadership.
  • Maintain positive and productive relationships with donors, volunteers, and customers.
  • Participate in the development and active implementation of store goals.
  • Proper Cash Handling/Accounting - receipts and deposits manage daily ReStore operations.
  • Provide on the job training for all new associates, volunteers, and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all issued training, including LMS training assigned by the affiliate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Great track record of providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to coach staff & volunteers in the moment around sales driving activity, customer experience and engagement, and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills. Be able to convey clear, concise information to others, using verbal or other appropriate communication techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability understanding ROI, risk, and impact.
  • A self-starter - excellent time management skills.
  • Creative, Energetic, forwarding thinking with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Merchandising for unit turns and inventory management.
  • Demonstrates fundamental retail business acumen to grow store performance.
  • Treat others in a nondiscriminatory, lawful, and ethical manner, respecting the differences among people, and the value they bring to HFHCAZ.
  • Ability to perform as a Brand Ambassador to positively represent HFHCAZ through all activities in and around ReStores and affiliate engagements.
  • Follow all safety protocols in all work activities to limit liability and risk of injuries or accidents.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years retail experience
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma or HiSet/GED equivalent required

  • The entire job takes place in Retail warehouse operation. The cooling is adequate in the summer, but it will get hot and muggy at times during summer months.  Winter gets a little cold, dress warm in layers in the winter.
  • Dress code is casual and comfortable; no sandals or open shoes allowed, and company shirts will be provided.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Employee must be proficient in or able to use or learn to use office equipment such as computer, printer, phone, copiers, calculator, and other communication vehicles.
  • Must be able to learn and utilize social media platforms for volunteer, donor, customer, and store advocacy.
  • Able to operate the following equipment: Forklift, Hand Carts, Using Hand Tools, Operating Power Tools.
  • Required to have reliable transportation for offsite meetings, events, and responsibilities.
