Position Type:  Part-time (20-29 hours per week), Non-exempt

Purpose: The Community Outreach Education Coordinator will serve to extend our reach into the community through the local school system and nonprofit partnerships. This role will help to identify and pursue new nonprofit partners for the 300 Plan who are focused on reaching youth for the gospel. This role will also work with City Impact teams to identify the most strategic schools in their cities for Perimeter Church members to wrap around and support. They, along with Community Outreach Director and City Impact Educational Coaches, will ensure that systems are in place to provide a confidence and trust that volunteers are screened and equipped to serve students properly.  By linking Perimeter’s resources and relationships with local schools and nonprofit partners, this role intends to advance Kingdom flourishing for the next generation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Walk with Jesus- Commitment to corporate worship, personal discipleship and consistent prayer life 
  • Identify, recruit, and train Perimeter members within the 10 cities to serve as mentors and volunteers in the local schools.  
    • Screen and train volunteers identified as mentor candidates, ensuring that they meet the children’s ministry guidelines as adopted by Perimeter Church.
    • Provide encouragement, guidance, and support to school mentors and volunteers.  
  • Serve as available support for City Impact Education Coaches. This should include emails, telephone calls, coffee/lunch meetings, site visits and attendance at program sponsored events.    
  • Assist City Impact Education Coaches by sharing up-to-date serving opportunities, completing reimbursement request forms, and becoming additional hands and feet whenever needed.  
  • Provides budget oversight for CIT education coaches, approving their expenses to help advance the mission of Perimeter Church within schools in their cities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all Community Outreach nonprofit partners in the impact area focus of Education.
  • Plan and execute events and gatherings as designated by the Community Outreach Director. Goals include expressing appreciation, developing volunteer interest, providing encouragement and building relationships.
  • Builds bridges from the church into the local schools to bless the teachers and administrators with strategic resources and encouragement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Active staff participant – attend all required staff meetings and attend most optional staff meetings

  • Desire to positively impact graduation rates in our neighboring communities
