Director of Young Adults

Department: Young Adults Ministry 

Reports to: Executive Director of Family Transformation (Jimmy Kim) 

Direct Report(s): Young Adults Ministry Discipleship and Bible Study Leader 

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Ministerial Exception 

Purpose: To discover, develop, and deploy young adults through a vibrant ministry at Perimeter that supports the church’s overall vision and mission. 

Responsibilities:  

• Live out a life of humble reliance on Jesus Christ, growing in knowledge and understanding of Scripture, is prayerful, and is a winsome witness to both believer and non-believer 

• Develop the overall vision, purpose, and strategy of the Young Adults Ministry and create a plan to accomplish it 

• Must include a strategy to attract, connect, and integrate young professionals (single and married), young marrieds, and young parents into the life of Perimeter Church long-term 

• Must include a strategy to holistically lead and integrate the young adults present in Perimeter Church departments, as well as, cast the vision to the next generation of young adults 

• Department leadership including ministry planning, budget management, staff performance management, and lay leadership equipping/deployment 

• Plan and lead ministry opportunities including discipleship groups, serving, gatherings, events, spiritual care, and worship 

• Develop Young Adults Resident(s) through the Lead, Develop, Care Framework (when applicable) 

• Support the resident program of Perimeter by participating in strategic meetings with Resident Coordinator concerning shepherding, development, and involvement in the program as Young Adults Ministry and Residents intersect.

• Ability to build and lead teams of staff and lay volunteers 

• Good verbal and written communications skills  

• Strong theological understanding with an ability to teach, train, and lead according to Perimeter’s beliefs 

Requirements:  

• Personal faith in Jesus reflected not only in ministry but in all of life 

• 5+ years of ministry related experience leading young adult professionals, newlyweds, and marriage/parenting equipping 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field  

• Member of Perimeter Church in good standing, or willingness to complete the process
