US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join our team at Cardiology Specialist of Acadiana in LaFayette, LA
Responsibilities:
- Treats all patients with dignity, respect and preserves patient privacy; provides direct patient care.
- Prepares consent forms and assists with patients on both nuclear medicine and PET daily schedules.
- Provides patient education on procedure to be performed; obtains informed consent.
- Carries out physician’s orders; assists with various aspects of the nuclear medicine examination, including IV injection and stress treadmill operation.
- Documents EMR timely of each examination.
- Assists with patient scheduling; ensures proper insurance authorization obtained prior to performance of exam.
- Adheres to OSHA PPE & company safety guidelines in providing patient care; maintains clean exam rooms and equipment.
- Performs nursing function and other duties outside of department in absence of patient exams.
- Maintains and re-stocks clinical supplies; notifies appropriate personnel of inventory for purchasing.
- Perform any other services deemed reasonable by physician or supervisor.
Requirements:
- Active LA nursing licensure or Certified Medical Assistant
- BLS & ACLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience
- Previous professional training to perform intravenous injections.
- Training in nuclear medicine procedures is preferred but not required
