Registered Vascular Sonographer
Houston Cardiovascular Associates is adding to the team and in search of a PRN Vascular Sonographer in Houston, TX.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Vascular Sonographer II is an experienced and fully competent sonographer who performs a variety of routine to complex carotid dopplers, lower extremity arterial studies, lower extremity venous studies (for reflux AND DVT evaluation), ABIs, abdominal aortic ultrasounds, aorta - iliac studies, renal dopplers, and/or upper extremity arterial and venous studies. Sonographer MUST have experience doing ALL of the above studies as this position often works as the only member of the vascular team. MUST have active credentials by either ARDMS or CCI. The sonographer locates, evaluates, and records pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data while using different systems of ultrasound equipment. All preliminary reports are completed by the sonographer who should be comfortable in typing up conclusions and summarizing data for the physicians. Transmits exam to compatible DICOM storage applications, process preliminary technical data and exam findings in designated interpreting system, and communicates any significant findings to the attending reading physician. Actively participates in quality and compliance initiatives to maintain accreditation with the IAC standards.
This position is based in a large private practice. We have a large echo-vascular team who work together daily. Echo experience and/or credentials are welcomed! We are a high volume cardiac and vascular practice with 20 physicians. All candidates MUST have a minimum of 2 years of experience, work well within a team, and maintain the required credentials for their certification. This PRN position will be scheduled as needed Monday thru Friday with no call or weekend work.

- Must be experienced and work independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting
Requirements
- 2 years of experience as a Vascular Sonographer
- BLS/CPR preferred
