US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our vascular team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ
Responsibilities:
• Prepares charts for procedures including gathering of data, such as office visit notes, orders, labs, echo and other testing and hospital information.
• Schedules patient appointments and communicates with physician’s office MA.
• Interviews patients in person and on telephone, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Assists with inventories and tracking of supplies used for patients.
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine point of care tests.
• Attends to telephone calls at the nursing station and/or front desk as needed.
• Preps patients for Surgery including hair removal, antibacterial scrub and others as needed.
• Returns patient phone calls.
• Calls in patient prescriptions.
• Other related duties may be assigned as needed by supervisor.
Requirements:
• Cardiac Experience is preferred but not required
• Spanish speaker is preferred but not required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program
• Proficiency with EMR – e Clinical Works preferred
• Proficiency in patient evaluation including Vital signs, compiling patient history and medication reconciliation
