JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Division Manager, Operations Superintendent and Field Service Technician II, the Field Service Technician ("FST") I must demonstrate a proficiency in communicating with the general public, Company employees, supervisors, and others. The FST I must demonstrate the ability to prepare clear, concise, and complete written reports, map postings, meter reading route maps, ACC postings, daily reports, and CAGRD records. The FST I must understand and communicate information related to customer service, maintain proper conduct, and present a positive image of the Company.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
In addition to the duties of a FST I, the employee will be responsible for a variety of tasks and duties, which may include, but would not be limited to the following:
- Read meters regularly according to schedule.
- Record reading for ALL meters on a handheld meter reading device ("HMRD") or on read sheets for the proper account.
- Refer customer complaints or questions to local office when reader cannot answer promptly/correctly.
- Note unusual conditions by entering appropriate codes on HMRD, such as high/low reads, stopped, damaged or meters in need of repair, leaks observed and courtesy turn offs performed, meters which are found running and with high consumption, stolen meters, broken angle stops, etc.
- Either prepare written report after downloading HMRD or if the situation warrants, report unusual condition immediately to the Division office.
- Track dwelling types and numbers of units at facilities with master meters for the purpose of maintaining accurate counts by dwelling type for the Arizona Department of Water Resources.
- Change all types and sizes of meters.
- Meter Readers may be assigned to other duties.
