 What You’ll Do:

As an E-Commerce Clerk, you’ll oversee daily store operations, drive sales, and lead a team committed to excellence. You’ll play a key role in supporting our mission to enable employment by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth, while committing to sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scans item codes using computerized scanner equipment, including scanning books, and other items while sorting per guidelines.  
  • Responsible for the processing and distribution of donated jewelry to all retail locations.  
  • Cleans and prepares items and written description; photographs, measures and determines shipping weight and best shipping options. Uploads(lists) pertinent information to online sale sites.  
  • Scans item codes using computerized scanner equipment.  
  • Researches, prepares, and places donated items on online auction or sale sites.  
  • Retrieves items, prepares packing slip, packages, and prepares items for shipping.

Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet Goodwill’s performance standards.  Experience in shipping/receiving, inventory control and online customer service is highly desirable. Two years progressively relevant work experience. 

 

Knowledge of: 

  • Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.  

  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; basic math.  

  • The Internet, online auction selling and online research.  

  • Postal and other shipping methods.  

  • Principles and procedures of filing and record keeping and basic report preparation. 

 

Ability to: 

  • Speak and understand the English language sufficient to read and understand materials, communicate with customers and coworkers.  

  • Efficiently perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to work at usually hectic pace with irregular short deadlines and limited number of critical or unusual situations.  

  • Work without direct supervision.  

  • Organize workflow for optimal output.  

  • Interact effectively with customers, particularly via email. Resolve problems to the customer’s satisfaction in a timely, effective, and respectful manner.  

  • Operate standard office equipment and material handling equipment such as hand truck and pallet jack.  

  • Perform simple mathematical calculations.

Medium physical demand level. While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Frequently required to walk and/or stands for up to 8 hours per day. Must regularly lift, carry, and/or move up to 20 pounds and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to push/pull and carry up to 30 pounds. Kneels, stoops, and bends frequently. Occasional need to push heavy, wheeled carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and other material handling equipment with loads weighing up to 250 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Local and regional travel is required. Work is performed primarily indoors in a climate-controlled space. May occasionally perform work in outside weather conditions.
