Description

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

The lifeguard/swim instructor is responsible for the prevention of accidents as well as the minimization and elimination of hazardous conditions in all Aquatics areas. In addition, the Lifeguard/Swim Instructor will demonstrate competency to teach and lead specific skills and activities in the water.

  • Must possess CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Certification
  • Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility.
  • Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

Welcome/Pool Attendant

The welcome/pool attendant welcome guests to the pool facility and always be courteous and friendly to guests, be attentive to their needs, handle problems in a professional manner and are conscious of the importance of safety.

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging services
  • Welcome guests to the pool facility and ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Oversee the cleanliness and the daily upkeep of the pool, pool area, locker and change rooms
  • Ensure guests are aware of all services and activities available at the pool
  • Ensure an adequate supply of towels are available to guest
  • Assist in promoting the facility and organizing special events as required
  • Maintain pool deck cleanliness

Qualifications

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Previous guest service experience preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Flexible availability including days, evening, weekends and summer holidays.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and carrying items weighing 25 - 50 pounds.
  • Good communication is important, as is being able to follow directions efficiently and meeting the physical demands of the job.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate Member needs to other Staff Members.
  • A positive attitude while on the job is also essential.
