The Nashville Symphony is a nonprofit organization. We are seeking a creative and media-savvy Content Creation Intern to help capture the energy, excitement, and impact of our performances, musicians, and community programs. This intern will play a vital role in bringing the concert experience to life through photography, video, and social media storytelling—creating content that inspires engagement and gives audiences that “wish I were there” feeling.

This is an ideal opportunity for a college student interested in building their portfolio of digital storytelling, arts marketing, or social media content creation. The selected individual will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend concerts and events to capture behind-the-scenes moments, audience reactions, and on-stage highlights through photos and video.
  • Create social-ready content (reels, stories, short clips, quote graphics, etc.) that showcases the full Nashville Symphony experience.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to plan, storyboard, and edit content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
  • Highlight diverse aspects of the organization, including musician features, educational initiatives, and community engagement programs.
  • Maintain organized folders of raw and edited media content for future use.
  • Monitor social media trends and propose new content ideas that align with the Symphony’s brand and audience interests.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in communications, journalism, digital media, film, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in classical music.
  • Strong interest in the arts and content creation.
  • Experience using social media platforms and content tools (e.g., Instagram Reels, Facebook Stories, YouTube shorts, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or similar).
  • Comfortable attending and working at evening and weekend events.
  • Creative thinker with a strong eye for visual storytelling and detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a team.
  • Photography, videography, and editing skills are required.
  • Musician preferred.

 

Details

  • Internship requires flexibility and will depend on concert schedules, which are typically evenings and weekends for up to 20 hours/week.
  • Compensation: $10/hour + class credit + complimentary concert tickets 
  • Completion of the internship does not guarantee full-time employment with the Nashville Symphony.
