PT Bartender (Concession and Private Events)

 

I. Summary

Reports to:  Beverage Manager and Assistant Beverage Manager

Employment Status: Part-Time

Supervises: None

 

II.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Beverage Preparation: Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer requests.
  • Customer Service: Greet guests, take orders, and provide friendly and efficient service. Address customer questions and report complaints to management promptly.
  • Transactions: Use POS systems to process credit/debit card payments.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and report shortages to management. Assist in inventory counts.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal alcohol regulations, including checking customer IDs to verify legal drinking age.
  • Venue Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean and organized. Dispose of trash, wash glasses, and maintain sanitary conditions. Adhere to cleaning assignments.
  • Safety: Follow all safety protocols, including those related to alcohol service and customer behavior. Be prepared to notify management of situations involving intoxicated guests.
  • Event Setup and Breakdown: Assist with the setup and breakdown of bar stations, including moving and arranging equipment, supplies, and decorations as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other concession staff, servers, and event organizers to ensure smooth event operations.

 

The duties listed above are not all-inclusive.  The person in this position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.

 

 

 

Qualifications

III.  Work Requirements and Qualifications

 

1.   Education

      High School Graduate or Equivalent

 

 2.  Experience

     At least two years of Beverage/Bar and Event experience, preferably from within a high-end catering/event environment

 

3.  License and Certification Required     

     Tennessee Alcohol and Beverage Commission Server Permit

 

4.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Specific knowledge of the logistical processes for concerts, meetings, catered functions, and special events such as galas and weddings
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain the beverage recipe, and also identify avenues for upsells or specific needs across a wide range of client types (Internal staff, donors, community leaders, musicians, industry trade groups, event organizers/planners, and others)
  •  Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to client satisfaction
  •  Ability to work as a team member with a positive, helpful attitude in developing creative responses and solutions to needs and issues; ability to maintain the strictest of confidence as required
  •  Ability to work independently and display sound judgment
  •  Strong ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
  •  Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds
  •  Must be able to work flexible hours (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts)
  •  Must be able to stand or walk for varying lengths of time, including long periods
