Summary:
The Maintenance Technician supports daily plant operations by performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and facility systems. This role ensures equipment reliability, safety compliance, and minimal production downtime, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in sustaining safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production operations across the facility.
Essential Job Duties
•   Safely Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
•   Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to determine necessary repairs.
•   Performs preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
•   Plans repair work using building blueprints, P&IDs, and equipment manuals as needed.
•   Installs, maintains, and repairs pumps, valves, piping, mixers, conveyors, production lines, and other process equipment.
•   Works with PLC-controlled and automated equipment, assisting with minor controls troubleshooting when applicable.
•   Performs general facility repairs including basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and door/hardware repairs.
•   Monitors and maintains HVAC, boiler, and water/utility systems in compliance with safety and operational standards.
•   Completes lock-out/tag-out procedures, hot work, and other required safety protocols while performing repairs.
•   Assists with equipment installations, relocations, and improvement projects.
•   Documents work orders, parts usage, inspections, and equipment condition updates.
•   Cleans and assists with upkeep of facilities, ensuring a safe and orderly work environment.
•   Maintains inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies; initiates orders as needed.
•   Collaborates with Production, Engineering, and Safety teams to support operational and EHS compliance initiatives.
•   Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsÂ
Education and Experience
•   High school diploma or equivalent is required.Â
•   Minimum of 1 year of experience or equivalent training program is preferred.
•   Strong understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles is required.Â
•   Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions and procedures is required.Â
Professional Skills
•   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Â
•   Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
•   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Â
•   Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•   Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.
•   Commitment to safety and a strong safety record.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
•   Prolonged periods standing and walking.
•   Prolonged exposure to loud noises.
•   Capability to bend, reach, and climb ladders.Â
•   Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
•   Must be able to traverse property and facility.
•   Dexterity in hands and feet to operate power tools.
•   Required to wear PPE in the plant and complete safety training.Â
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt, and reports to the Regional Operations Manager.
